When to Attend:
For now, there is no need to RSVP.
We will be holding meetups every first Tuesday of the month from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
Where to Attend:
We would like to start in-person meetups ASAP. Until then, we are meeting virtually.
Ideas & Coffee (in-person meetups are postponed)
How to attend a virtual meetup:
Currently we are using a self-hosted Jitsi-meet docker image.
You can use the latest Firefox or Chome-based browser to access the meetup. If you ever “locked down” your web browser, make sure WebRTC is enabled.
You can test to see if WebRTC is working properly here: https://test.webrtc.org/
There might be some benefit to installing the Jitsi-meet-electron client on your computer, especially if you are having audio/video issues. If Jisti-meet-electron is not in your local repo, try using the .AppImage: https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet-electron.
If you’re using Mac or Windows, visit: https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet-electron.
Make sure you set the Jitsi-meet server to: https://live.abqlug.com
To attend on a smartphone, use the Jitsi-meet app:
Jitsi Meet on iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/jitsi-meet/id1165103905
Jitsi Meet on Android Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.jitsi.meet&hl=en_US
Jitsi Meet on F-Droid: https://f-droid.org/en/packages/org.jitsi.meet/
What to bring:
Any desktop or laptop is fine! Snacks and drinks are very much welcome! I typically bring the plate-ware. We have around 10 attendee’s currently…
Caution towards children:
Currently most of the content at the meetups would likely bore most children. If your child wants to be involved with Linux, I would like to see them attend! Just worried that kids would be bored for two hours! If there is a demand for a children audience, then we should probably create a second meetup. Maybe over the weekend? I would be interested in anyone has any suggestions. Though keep in mind that my time is limited…
